This year, dyeing Easter eggs was not the major event it usually is because the boys played outside much longer and later than usual. We were all exhausted when we finally came inside! But, since Daddy had to work the next day, and we all wanted him to be a part of this holiday tradition, we soldiered through. Afterward, I was pleasantly surprised to find that our eggs were much more attractive than they have been in years past. Ryan decided to let each egg sit in a separate color cup until it had turned a bright, vibrant color. Previously, he would dip the egg in each of the colors, trying to achieve a tie-dyed/camouflage effect. The end result was usually an egg the color of Gavin's dirty diaper!
I think the boys' favorite part of the entire egg dyeing experience is flushing the colored water down the toilet. Apparently, this has become an annual tradition in our household. They'd gleefully dump each cup into the toilet, marvel at the the color it would turn the toilet water, and then enthusiastically wave goodbye as they flushed it down. I would post the video clip we took of them doing this, but some of Ryan's comments were a bit off color (pun intended!). He's at that age where he finds bathroom humor hilarious.

Oh no, are you going to have to flush out a potty mouth already?
