Day 110 (4/20/11) - Preschool Easter Party

I volunteered to be one of the party parents for Ryan's preschool Easter party.  It also happened to be his sharing day.  The children were asked to bring in a sign of Spring for their sharing day.  We tried to convince Ryan to take in a box of Kleenex since his allergies have been particularly bad this season.  But, he insisted on taking in a dandelion and a little stuffed blue bird that he found in our storage bins of Easter decorations.  Ryan told his classmates that he brought in a dandelion because "flowers grow in the Spring."  A few corrected him, explaining that a dandelion is a weed, not a flower.  I laughed and reassured him that given our gardening skills, we consider a dandelion a flower!

Somehow, despite my lack of success in the kitchen, I got tasked with making the snack for the Easter party.  So, I made Rice Krispies treat nests because they're nearly foolproof and don't pose a significant allergy risk.  They were surprisingly easy to make and well received by everyone, including my own picky eater!
