Today we brought our Easter baskets and decorations up from the basement. Ryan, in particular, loves looking through the holiday decor and decorating the house for any occasion. When the boys discovered the plastic eggs, they had several Easter egg hunts in preparation for the big day. Ryan has gotten really good at hiding eggs. He likes to "camouflage" them by matching the egg color to the color of the hiding spot (e.g., green eggs in plants). I'm still finding eggs and we've had countless hunts since then!
Then, the boys arranged our shoes in a circle and hosted a show with the little toy Easter bunnies and chicks that they've collected over the years. Ryan has such a great imagination and we're pleased that he's teaching Gavin the importance and fun of imaginative play. I just wish we could keep up - whenever I role play Transformers or super heroes with Ryan, the scenarios and conversations I make up feel so stilted in comparison to what Ryan comes up with!
