Day 111 (4/21/11) - Looking Ahead
Since children are so much safer in a rear-facing car seat, we kept Gavin rear-facing as long as possible, far past the minimum requirement of at least one year and 20 pounds. But, now that his feet nearly touch the rear headrest, we decided it was time to turn him around. He was absolutely delighted to finally be forward-facing and was amazed at all that he was now able to see. He also discovered the rear window control and now insists on driving around with his window down so he can feel the wind blowing his hair. It's a good thing we have the childproof window locks so we can prevent him from controlling the window, otherwise he'd ride with it down even during a torrential rain storm!

Michelle, to quote one of your pre-school teachers: now Gavin can "look where he is going and not where he has been."
