For the first time in more than 100 days, I actually forgot to take a picture today! I guess it's either jet lag, lack of sleep, or my brain is still on island time! Since our flight departed from Miami a little after 10 pm, I figured it was close enough to midnight for these photos to count as the pictures for the day!
We were dreading our 4.5 hour layover in Miami. Luckily, the customs process was so inefficient that it wasted nearly 2 hours! After eating a light dinner, watching airplanes take off and land, and slowly making our way to the gate, we only had about an hour to wait before boarding began. Although both boys protested a little, they eventually fell asleep. They woke up briefly for take-off, then slept the rest of the flight home. We arrived back at Dulles a few minutes after 1 am. By the time we retrieved our baggage, found our car, and drove home, it was after 3 am! Although vacation was restful and relaxing, the return trip left us feeling as exhausted as we were when it started!
To add insult to injury, Ryan was supposed to have his opening day parade for tee ball the next morning at 8:30 am. Apparently it was cancelled due to the expected rainstorms. But, they announced it at practice, which we missed, and didn't follow up with an email to inform those who were unable to attend. So, we drug ourselves out of bed and made our way to City Park only to find that no one was there because it had been rescheduled for the following day!
Ahh, home sweet home...but back to reality!
