Today the boys finally mustered the courage to play a little further out from shore (it was still no more than waist deep on them). Of course, it helped that they were playing with a friend they had made a couple of days earlier who was a little more comfortable in the water. The boys also fed the fish bread left over from our previous night's dinner (a tip we received from another hotel guest). In the lower right-hand picture, Gavin is pointing to an "air go" flying overhead (just in case we couldn't hear the roar of its engines!).
The boys enjoy hot dogs for lunch. We're considering entering Gavin in a hot dog eating contest because he can eat two per meal! Ryan reluctantly agrees to take a nap in Daddy's lap.
Gavin, the gentleman, called shotgun and got the front seat of the paddle boat to himself, relegating Mommy to the back. Since Daddy had to do all the pedalling, that meant Ryan had to be a back seat passenger as well. But that was okay because Ryan and I were able to enjoy the view without having to do any of the work! Eventually, Ryan repositioned himself in the center of the boat and acted as Daddy's navigator. Daddy ran aground a couple of times, which meant Mommy had to get out and push us to deeper water, a sight that absolutely delighted the boys!
Tonight we were finally able to see the sun set. We watched the sun until it dipped below the horizon - a beautiful end to a perfect day!
With all the fun you are having, surely you're not ready to sail off into that beautiful sunset.
