Given their recent engagement, Mike decided to demonstrate the importance of the wedding vow in sickness and in health. Apparently he got food poisoning from the BBQ the night before. He was up all night throwing up. His loud, violent retching even awoke Matty and Lauren who were in a room down the hall! Thankfully, Nurse Lauren came prepared in case one of the kids got sick. She was able to give Mike a pediatric IV - not enough to revive him, but enough to restore some much needed fluids!
This is how he rode home (that's mike under the blue blanket)! Passing motorists must have thought I was smuggling ET! And poor Mike, what should have been a 5 hour drive turned into an almost 9 hour drive due to traffic jams, wrong turns, missed exits, bathroom breaks, and torrential rainstorms. As soon as we got home, he dragged himself upstairs, collapsed into bed, and wasn't heard from again until sometime the next day!
