Day 24 (1/24/11) - Race Car Design

This morning Ryan invited Gavin to help him paint a wooden race car that he got for Christmas.  Gavin, who has never painted before, was so excited to help and made sure that every paint color was represented on the car.  At one point Ryan exclaimed, "oooh, cool, it looks like confetti, or like fireworks."  Eventually the boys abandoned the paint brushes and resorted to finger painting instead, which turned the nice, bright splatter paint colors into more of a dull brown.  And, in true Gavin fashion, he couldn't be bothered with the paper towels I had laid out for them to use to clean their hands.  Instead, he just wiped them off on the front of his pjs.  Luckily, the paints were washable and everything and everyone cleaned up nicely!
