Day 21 (1/21/11) - Animal Expert

Today was Daddy's turn to go on the school field trip with Ryan. We went to Piney Run Nature Center. The kids learned about animals that hibernate. The teacher brought out a snake from a bag and asked if anyone knew what kind of snake it was. Ryan immediately called out "It's a corn snake." The teacher was impressed, the other parents were stunned and I was horrified that Ryan knows anything about snakes. I HATE snakes. I will do anything for my boys and will support them with perhaps one exception - no snakes. So I was proud of Ryan but I would prefer he like a warm, cuddly, easy going animal like the black bear. Still no idea how he knew what kind of snake it was...
