Unmannerly Monkey

Last night as I was cleaning up from dinner, Gavin snuck over to the bookshelf and turned on "Dave, The Robotic Funky Monkey."  Not surprisingly, the poorly-mannered remote-controlled monkey was a Christmas present to Ryan from Uncle Scott.  (Aunt Kelsea, I omitted your name on purpose since I'm sure you had nothing to do with this gift!)  Although Dave is capable of more than 50 sounds, movements, and mannerisms, the boys are only interested in his ability to burp and pass gas.  And, apparently Gavin has figured out which buttons to push on the remote to make Dave perform these ghastly noises on command!  It doesn't matter how many times the monkey burps or "toots," the boys find it hysterical every time!  It was the only Christmas present that Ryan received that I told him he absolutely could not take to school for his next sharing day!

(Uncle Matty and Miss Lauren:  Please do not read anything into the placement of the monkey next to your lovely engagement picture.  The proximity is unintentional; we are trying to be better about displaying pictures of family throughout the house, and certainly did not mean to associate you with such an unmannerly animal!)

  1. I think putting Matty's picture next to a gross farting monkey is totally appropriate(except how do you tell which one is the monkey?)

  2. Scott, you better watch out, because paybacks are really _ _ _ _!
