Then we went to Explore and More, a hands-on children's museum in Gettysburg, PA. Located in a beautiful historic home in the heart of downtown Gettysburg, this museum features seven themed rooms with activities designed to be fun and educational through exploratory play. The 1860's room, which was Ryan's favorite, resembles a Civil War era house and general store and allows children to experience life as it was more than one hundred years ago. There was also a construction zone, art room, nature area, dark room with a black light, and exploration room where children could stand inside a bubble, experiment with magnets, put on a puppet show, and use food coloring in water and milk to see the different color combinations they could make.
Today was a welcome departure from our usual school-day routine and a much needed fun outing for Mommy and her boys! I wish we could have days like today more often!
More fun is on the way because Grami Shar and Granddaddy are coming up next week to go to the SPAMFAA Muster in Gettysburg. Gonna see some old fire engines plus a mini-model muster. If you guys behave(no nerf gun shots to the face)we'll stop at Friendly's for lunch.
