Little Love Bugs

I got to spend Valentine's Day with 2 of my favorite guys!  The boys and I spent the day baking cupcakes, reading books, reenacting scenes from the Disney movie Cars, and staging fights between Batman and the dinosaurs.  I had originally planned on making a special dinner followed by chocolate fondue for dessert.  However, once I realized Mike had to work day shift and wouldn't get home until 7 pm, I decided a more low-key celebration was in order.  So, instead we enjoyed Chinese take-out, an Edible Arrangements fruit bouquet, and Valentine's candy from the care packages we received.  Ryan, who patiently waited all day to open his gifts, was delighted to unwrap several new characters from the Cars movie, Batman figurines, stickers, and a superheroes book.  Gavin, who found the wrapping paper and card envelopes equally as entertaining as the presents, received a teddy bear, a "brothers" picture frame, a stackable vehicles toy, and a Mickey Mouse teething toy.  Before going to bed, the boys (mostly Ryan since Gavin can't talk), called their grandparents to wish them a Happy Valentine's Day, thank them for the thoughtful gifts, and tell them they loved them.

Overall, our Valentine's Day was fairly quiet and routine, which was okay because we think it's important to remind and show the boys everyday just how much we love them.  We couldn't ask for two better little boys to be our sons.

  1. It's impossible to tell or show our special little grandsons all the ways we love them. Just remember we love you all the time, no matter what! Hope you had a nice Valentine's Day, love bugs!
