At the beginning of tee ball practice the coach heard thunder rumbling in the distance. Since the sky looked threatening, he asked the players to wait in their cars until the storm passed. The boys had a great time exploring all the buttons, knobs, and levers in the car as they waited. Once it started raining, they tried to catch rain drops on their tongues. Unfortunately, it looked as though a wicked spring storm was moving through the area. So, the coach decided to cancel practice. Although Ryan was disappointed to miss yet another practice due to weather, he learned that sometimes you gotta put up with the rain if you want the rainbow.
And Mommy and Daddy discovered that there really is a treasure at the end of the rainbow...IHOP! And to think that all this time we've considered it an unwelcome eyesore in our front yard!
Since neither Ryan nor Gavin had seen a rainbow before, it was neat to watch them marvel at one of nature's wonders. It was also a great opportunity to tell them that rainbows are signs of God's promise and the covenant He made with Noah.
